Duke Energy continues to be a strong Chamber partner in economic development and the Chamber, and recently made an additional contribution to the Duke Energy Room at our office. In 2016, Duke Energy sponsored an underutilized room at the Chamber. At the time, our two conference rooms were consistently booked. Duke Energy’s sponsorship enabled us to add a new, collaborative meeting space for our members and guests. It is now a favorite for hosting meetings with economic development clients, members and potential members, committees and staff.
At the beginning of 2018, Duke Energy revisited the commitment to the room and allowed several additional details to be added to the meeting space: a whiteboard for collaboration during meetings, additional seating and tables, and most importantly, photography. A photographer visited local industries to capture employees at work with the idea to showcase not only Alamance County businesses, but one of our local assets, a quality workforce. In addition to being showcased on the walls, the investment also allowed us to utilize the photos on our website and other economic development promotional materials.
