| Chamber Annual Dinner Honors Volunteers |

Burlington, NC (February 1, 2011) - The Ninety-Seventh Annual Meeting of the Alamance County Area Chamber of Commerce was held Friday, January 28, at the Mebane Arts & Community Center. This year’s theme, Charting the Course, emphasized the county’s continual progress in uncertain times. The event welcomed over 300 business leaders in the community. Evening festivities included an awards ceremony and entertainment provided by The Spare Change Band.
Special awards were presented to honor those that go above and beyond as volunteers of the chamber and supporters of Alamance County. Those honored included: Ambassador of the Year, Brandy Miller of Carolina Bank; Volunteer of the Year, Lisha Akers of Manpower; Director of the Year, Randy Perkins of Prime Personnel Resources; Chamber Event of the Year, the Leadership Alamance Alumni’s Lunch with Leaders chaired by Cindy Montgomery of Gregory Grier Professional Office Furnishings; and Chamber Program of the Year, the Alamance Youth Leadership Academy (AYLA), chaired by Lee Isley of Colonial Life. Wachovia/Wells Fargo was honored as the recipient of the Duke Energy Citizenship and Service Award for their efforts with the United Way Habitat Build.
