Business Start Up Package

To help eliminate risks associated with starting a small business, it’s key to make sure you’re prepared.  A good starting place is to evaluate your strengths and weaknesses as the owner and manager of a small business. Ask some of the following questions.

  • Is Entrepreneurship For You?
  • Are you a self-starter?
  • How well do you get along with different personalities?
  • How good are you at making decisions?
  • How well do you plan and organize?
  • How will the business affect your family?

Writing a Business Plan

Alamance County Area Chamber of Commerce
Starting and managing a business takes research, planning and determination.  To increase your chance for success, take the time to explore and evaluate your business and personal goals.  The process of developing a business plan will help you think through some important issues that you may not have considered yet.  Your plan will become a valuable tool as you set out to raise money for your business.  It should also provide milestones to gauge your success.

Financing a Business

One key to a successful business start-up or expansion is your ability to obtain and secure appropriate financing. Raising capital is the most basic of all business activities. But as many new entrepreneurs quickly discover, raising capital may not be easy; in fact, it can be a complex and frustrating process. However, if you are informed and have planned effectively, raising money for your business will not be a painful experience.   There are several sources to consider when looking for financing. It is important to explore all of your options before making a decision.
