(January 11, 2024, Burlington, NC) – The Alamance Chamber is thrilled to announce the upcoming arrival of Buc-ee’s, the renowned Texas-based travel center, to Mebane, NC. This significant project marks a multi-million-dollar investment in Alamance County, promising to generate at least 225 full-time jobs with an average annual wage of approximately $45,000.

This development follows a unanimous vote by the Mebane City Council to approve the rezoning and special use permit necessary for building North Carolina’s first Buc-ee’s. The decision is a testament to the region’s growth and commitment to enhancing local economic opportunities.

Buc-ee’s, known for its sizable travel centers and extensive range of products and services, will undoubtedly become a key attraction and convenience for residents and travelers. With its well-established reputation for quality and customer service, Buc-ee’s entry into Mebane strongly indicates Alamance County’s vibrant economic landscape and potential for future growth.

“The Alamance Chamber is excited to have North Carolina’s first Buc-ee’s join the business community in Alamance County. We understand this company’s impact on our community, including quality jobs, increased revenue, and promoting community pride. A strong presence and a business such as Buc-ee’s will expand the current economy, grow opportunities for local businesses, and improve the way of life,” says Reagan C. Gural, President & CEO of the Alamance Chamber.
