Alamance Chamber Delegation Takes Local Priorities to Washington
A delegation of Alamance County business and education leaders traveled to Washington, D.C., September 15–17 for the Alamance Chamber’s 2026 Fly-In. The visit provided an opportunity to bring our region’s priorities directly to federal policymakers and national business leaders. The delegation participated in a briefing with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and met with the offices of Senators Ted Budd and Thom Tillis, Congressman Richard Hudson, and officials at the U.S. Department of Commerce.
Throughout the meetings, Chamber representatives discussed the organization’s legislative agenda and several issues affecting Alamance County’s continued growth. Conversations focused on education and workforce development, access to quality healthcare, transportation and infrastructure needs, and the effects of tariffs and other federal policies on local employers. Delegates shared perspectives from Alamance County’s business, healthcare, K–12 education, and community college sectors, helping policymakers better understand the opportunities and challenges facing our community.

That direct engagement is invaluable as we work to advance the priorities of our business community at the local, state, and federal levels.”
The Fly-In also strengthened relationships among local leaders and with those representing Alamance County in Washington. By speaking with a unified voice, the delegation reinforced the importance of policies that support employers, prepare students and workers for future careers, improve essential infrastructure, and sustain a healthy business climate. As we head into the political season and begin preparing for post-election engagement, the Alamance Chamber will continue working with our members and partners to ensure our region’s priorities are heard at every level of government.
