Message from the President: Happy Small Business Week!

The Alamance Chamber is proud to recognize small businesses and entrepreneurs every day, but we are especially proud to elevate the significant impact of these businesses in our community during Small Business Week! More than 85% of investors in the Chamber are small businesses and we appreciate you.

Did you know that buying locally increases the amount of money that passes through the local economy, bringing more value to our community. A dollar spent at a small business returns more than 3 times as much money to the local economy than a dollar spent at a chain or franchise.

Small businesses  bring innovation and jobs, and we are forever grateful to them for choosing Alamance County as their home. This week the Chamber will be supporting small businesses by hosting a meet up event, highlighting businesses through social media posts, distributing yard signs promoting shopping small and local, and pop in meetings with various small businesses around the county.

The Chamber extends a big thank you to Alamance County, City of Mebane, City of Graham, City of Burlington, and the Town of Elon for recognizing this week as Small Business Week through individual proclamations. These proclamations declare the first week of May as Small Business Week.

During this week and always we encourage you to shop local!

Sincerely,

Reagan C. Gural
