Choose Alamance: We’re Stronger Together

Alamance County will be stronger – this is the mindset I have tried to have throughout the COVID-19 crisis. I have remained steadfast in this theory and know that we will be stronger than the storm. This is the mindset it has taken to listen to businesses share the challenges they have been faced with during this time. This is the mindset it has taken to remain strong for our staff, and this is the mindset it has taken to ensure that our organization is leading the business community.

We all know that the COVID-19 crisis has challenged our businesses and our community in ways we never thought we would see in our lifetime. With these challenges have come opportunities for our businesses and our community.

Over the past few weeks, the Alamance Chamber has been supporting a Choose Alamance Campaign. This campaign was designed to show our small, local businesses just how much they mean to us! I have been overwhelmed with the engagement from our businesses and our community to support local. Businesses are passing out Thank you cards to their customers, and proudly displaying “Thank you for shopping local” signs outside of their businesses. This is just one example of how we, as a community, are STRONGER. I am convinced Business to Business support WILL be the driving force for us to navigate this storm.

Now as we are facing the reopening process as a community, we need to have our eye on ONE word…. Responsible. With this focus our businesses will be faced with new challenges like how to be responsible. How to keep their customers and employees safe and healthy. How to budget and source cleaning supplies and PPE equipment. With this is a new opportunity to #ChooseAlamance. Help your neighboring businesses by connecting them with the resources and supplies they need to be responsible. Refer them to businesses that you know have these supplies.

So, did you #ChooseAlamance?
