2023 Investor Engagement Intern – Alamance Chamber
Elon University Student / Campus Alamance Intern

This summer I had the privilege to join the Alamance Chamber team as their Investor Engagement Intern as part of Elon’s Campus Alamance Program. I have spent the last 8 weeks getting to work with an incredibly talented and dedicated organization.

During my time with the Alamance Chamber, I had the opportunity to help with a wide range of projects to build upon the skills that I have been cultivating at Elon University. A few of the projects which I was trusted with include updating the Chamber’s Newcomers Guide, organizing Ribbon Cuttings, and helping to develop a better Entrepreneurial Ecosystem in Alamance County. While the addition to my portfolio is much appreciated, my greatest benefit from these projects, and working at the Chamber, was the introduction to the wonderful community around me.

I have loved my last four years living in Alamance County and being able to give back and work so closely with the community is what drew me into this Internship, and the chamber certainly did not disappoint. So much of what goes on in the County happens through the Alamance Chamber, and during my time here I have had the opportunity to meet with some incredibly passionate individuals. From the nonprofits and the small businesses, to the amazing Chamber Ambassadors, there is no shortage of people acutely dedicated to the community and what they can do to further its growth and prosperity.

Over these eight weeks I have been asked numerous times about the skills I’ve developed and the projects I’ve worked on. I am incredibly appreciative of the professional growth the Chamber team has fostered and the responsibilities they have trusted me with, but it has been the people that I have worked with that have been the shining light of my internship. It is amazing to have such a passionate community, but without a dedicated and equally passionate organization to capitalize on that, it can all go to waste. Luckily, Alamance County has just that in the Alamance Chamber. Every member of the Alamance Chamber team zealously attacks the goals and the mission of the Chamber for the betterment of the whole county. It has been an honor to be apart of such a great team this summer.

Thank you so much to the Alamance Chamber and to the whole Alamance Community.
